Who's in the Cockpit

I boarded an airplane heading for a destined place
Completely relying on someone else to safely get me there
Qualifications of the pilot are completely unknown
I'm compelled to relinquish control into his care

Life's now completely dependent on someone's expertise
Expectations set accordingly to the situation at hand
Apprehension carefully concealed by confident pride in self
My attitude is required to trust, in provisions to again land

Unstable winds cause chaotic movements and suspicion in the air
Storms and their erratic substance take hold and surround
No alternate direction without consequences worsening
Natural feelings with emotions seize me hostage and abound

Positive thoughts break free from the strapless bondage
Eliminating the negativism that illuminates facial expression
Confident attitudes prevail during the temporary disturbance
Contrary to the amount of harmful dissension

Suddenly a warm steady hand softly touches mine
Sitting by the window, the whispering voice sees daylight
The calm words share that He is the Son of the confident Pilot
He hopes that lessons have been learned amid this flight

His Father has guided many through endless different storms
Many stayed angry simply because of their rough journey
Prisoners of worry, living short fused on confidence
Still afraid of admitting mistakes, they seemingly flee

Educational interest consumes me with this gentleman
The simple wisdom still smoothly flowing from His lips
'Trust is a dependent attitude as fear is a feeling emotion
With society claiming their independence, reliance slips'

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart" the biblical verse reveals
'People discover difficulty when they can't see what is real
Such a physical world, yet no one visits the cockpit when boarding
Credentials proven worthless provided you can feel'

'Some individuals label fear differently, expressing they're afraid
The less you're hesitant of something, the more you'll trust
Suffering experienced is only another step toward faith
Your trials and tribulations attempt to burn off the dust'

Pondering this in a moments pause, I turned to Jesus saying
I'll allow God to fly my plane, remaining a passenger in this seat
This hollow world has brought me nothing, but consistent defeat
