Doctor, I'm Sick
There was a man who was stricken with pain
Everyday he could see he was getting worse
Finally dropping his pride, he went to the doctor
Arriving he was graciously met by the nurse
She showed him in and began numerous tests
When this was completed he went to wait
Soon after he was directed to the doctors office
The Dr said "Sir, you can be healed it's not to late"
"You need bypass surgery and you have cancer"
Stricken with reality, tears streamed down his face
"I can't do this yet", he said, "I need to diet better,
Quit smoking and drinking. I am such a disgrace"
Confused by this reaction the Dr just had to ask
"Why must you do this before the needed surgery"
The man replied "I feel so ashamed by my ways"
Replying "Surgery sets things right don't you agree"
Think for a moment on how this story effects you
This man was swimming in his own guilt and shame
He wanted to clean his life up before the healing
But if he can't achieve this, then who gets the blame
Have you rejected allowing Jesus to be in your life
So many believe they must do right beforehand
This is not true, but an often simple misconception
Eliminate sin, then I will be ready for His Holy Land
When God calls on your heart, He wants you right then
He knows your not perfect and that your broke
That's why His grace and mercy pour out to you
To heal and forgive you with the touch of His cloak
Jesus death and resurrection can come alive today
He died so you could live, and now your spirit has died
He wants to rise within your heart to live within you
Haven't you waited long enough to give in and confide
Don't wait for sinful things to get perfect in your life
I can tell you from experience that this won't happen
We don't live in a perfect world by anyone's standards
Turning your life over to God will send angels clappin'
