Do You Have Makeup On?
Have you ever been owner of a black-eye before
Perhaps you may have seen someone with this
Obvious swelling and different shades of black
Noticeable and not something you would miss
A man may conceal it with dark sunglasses
While yet a woman with such tends to hide
Burying this in layers of various make-up
Neither can deny the fact of wounded pride
Regardless of any efforts to cover all this up
There are some remnants that will still remain
The outward appearance presents this hurt
But deep down they can still feel all the pain
They get beaten and battered still carrying on
Never sharing the internal bruising that exist
Friends never inquire to matters of the heart
Just humor with careless jokes about the fist
Now take these unfortunate circumstances given
Placing it in the perspective of marital divorce
All of the facts unfortunately remain the same
The cover up of discomfort takes the same course
For some the pain has been tucked deep within
Hiding any uneasiness of this that maybe present
While others share the internal puncture wounds
With streaming tears a saddened heart is evident
Contrary to what you may believe about divorce
And how acceptable society dictates this to be
The associated grief that comes with this decision
Does not always make itself visible for others to see
Please learn from this, perhaps by showing compassion
Inner strength to heal comes from extended support
The opportunity exists to grow as an individual
Only after feelings and emotions can surface to sort
Growth in spiritually can assist this long process
Through faith in Jesus, with all His honor and glory
Read the Bible and know that you're never alone
In prayer and worship, life can become self explanatory
